Wagga Christian College student Jed Ward said his class was learning to knit scarves, which will be donated to the people who struggle to stay warm in winter.
"We read a book called Mr Stink and that inspired us. It was about a homeless man and a girl named Chloe who becomes a very caring friend to Mr Stink," he said.
After reaching out to local businesses for materials to use, Jed and his school friends invited their family and friends to teach them how to knit winter woollies.
"I got my sister involved because she's an awesome knitter," he said.
Once the scarves are finished, Jed said the class will give them to people in need.
"I think it's a real privilege to help them," he said.
