It has been a nine-day break for the Hanwood side in between their catch up game against Leeton and this weekend's match, and coach Anthony Agresta feels the break came at the right time.
"The boys have pulled up pretty well," he said.
"We trained alright last weekend, and I think everyone enjoyed the weekend off but are now looking forward to getting back out there."
The defending premiers are sitting three points behind the Hanwood side so a win for the Sharks would see them move level with the Griffith side and Agresta is expecting it to be a fierce clash.
"Looking at their last couple of results it looks like they are starting to find their form," he said.
"We are going over there to take on the premiers who are going to want to assert their authority.
"It will be a good challenge for the boys. Hopefully, they will be ready for it."
Since suffering a 3-0 loss at the hands of Henwood Park, Lake Albert have bounced back with convincing wins over Tolland (5-0) and Cootamundra (4-0) before a close 2-1 win over Wagga United before the June long weekend.
Hanwood will be coming into the game off the back of a 1-0 win over Leeton, and Agresta knows his side had plenty to work on after that game.
"Defensively I thought we did pretty well," he said.
"I just don't think we were patient enough with the ball. Going forward, we were rushing a lot, and we just couldn't find any rhythm.
"We just need to be more patient when in possession of the ball."
Hanwood is hoping to welcome back a couple of crucial players who will help them as they look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
"Dem Torino and Brad Clark have missed the last couple of games for us, and they might be coming back into the team depending on how they pull up after training," he said.
"Anthony (Agresta) missed last week's game as well, and he could also come back into the side."
Meanwhile, the women's side will be looking to continue their strong start to the season when they take on Tolland at Hanwood Oval on Sunday at 11am.
The ladies are currently sitting on top of the ladder after six wins to start the season and will look to continue that form when they take to the field for the first time in two weeks.
The men's clash with Lake Albert will get underway at 3pm over at Rawlings Park.
