KIldare Catholic College's girls team and The Riverina Anglican College's (TRAC) boys team both came out on top at the Southern NSW finals in Wagga on Wednesday.
Both teams proved too good for Leeton's St Francis De Sales Regional College and Moama Grammar to move through to the state finals in Canberra on June 24.
AFL Southern NSW development coordinator Ben Walsh was particularly impressed by the standard of girls football.
"We dropped it back from under 15s to year seven and eight this year but it didn't change anything, the standard was still really good," Walsh said.
"In the girls footy, every girl had been involved in youth girls AFL of some form, whether it be in the MIA or Wagga, so that has definitely increased the standard.
"The girls were really classy. They were able to switch the footy and seemed able to find a bit of space. They were really good ball users, not just athletes. They were really good at reading the play."
