A man has been arrested and charged over the alleged ongoing sexual abuse of a girl in the Riverina.

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports an 11-year-old girl had been sexually and indecently assaulted by a man known to her.
Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 37-year-old man on Tuesday.
He was charged with seven offences, including:
- three counts of sexual intercourse with child under age of 10,
- aggravated indecent assault to a victim under the age of 16 years,
- two counts of aggravated indecency to victim under 16 and under authority of offender, and
- use of child under 14 years to make child abuse material.
Police will allege in court that the man sexually and indecently assaulted her on numerous occasions at a home in the Riverina region between October 2015 and February 2018, when the child was aged between seven and 10.
The man was refused bail to appear at court on Wednesday.
