By just after 2pm on Wednesday, the mercury had reached 17.5 degrees on its way to a predicted top of 20.
But the warmish day has come ahead of rain and from about 9pm onwards, the chances of rain will be as high as 80 per cent.
Those showers are expected to hang around into Thursday, when the mercury will be heading for a chillier top temperature of 15 degrees. Friday is expected to bring pretty much the same conditions.
During June, the average maximum temperature is 13.8 degrees, but so far this month, it's been well above that, with an average of 14.7.
While Wednesday's predicted top of 20 degrees is well above the long-term average, it still falls short of the highest-ever June maximum of 23.2, which was recorded in 1994.
