In her final year at Kooringal High School last year, Hannah Prenzler used an assessment to capture her experience of sensory processing disorder after her autism diagnosis.
Her series of drawings were chosen to form an annual exhibition showcasing artwork created by visual arts students at the Hazelhurst Art Centre.
The artwork will now return to the city to be displayed at the Wagga Art Gallery from June 21.
Miss Prenzler said exposing her feelings through drawings was not an easy process, but she was proud to show this disorder exists.
"It makes the world a different place. It affects the senses, which is the main way everyone navigates the world around them. It does not make things necessarily difficult, but rather different," she said.
"I have been living with it for a lot of my life and it was difficult to turn my feelings into drawings."
In other news:
Miss Prenzler's journey as an artist has come a long way, having been named in a finalist in the Young Archie 13 to 15 year old category in 2015 and now having her work displayed in a gallery.
However, her passion for art now lies within the field of animation, which she is currently studying at Charles Sturt University.
"To have that displayed in a gallery - and now in Wagga - is a cool experience," she said. "I am interested in arts, but I am hoping to get into the field of animation."
