The Hoppers ran in 11 goals to two in a second half rampage over the reigning premiers, running out winners 19.15 (129) to 12.7 (79) at Crossroads Oval.
Coolamon entered the final term just two points up but quickly shut the door on the Demons as they ran in seven unanswered goals to finish the game.
The Hoppers were at their brilliant best for most of the game, bar the second quarter, as Jake Barrett and Jeremiah Maslin ran riot in another impressive display.
Coolamon co-coach Jamie Maddox, who was a late withdrawal due to injury, had no hesitation in declaring the win the Hoppers' best effort yet.
"I think it would be, yeah," Maddox said.
"Our best second half performance. The first half we were a bit disappointing, they were up and about but it was good for our guys to build into it and to come away with the win was good."
The game shaped as a shootout up until half-time with both teams capitalising on the periods of midfield dominance.
Coolamon led by a goal at quarter-time, before the Demons replied with a seven-goal second term to lead by 11 points at the main break.
It was from there that Barrett, Luke Redfern and Maslin lifted another level, with all three hitting the scoreboard in both the third and fourth quarters to help put away the Demons.
Maddox was proud of the way his team responded.
"Just to actually fight back. We were three or four goals down halfway through the second quarter and we fought back and started playing our style of footy again so that was pleasing for me," he said.
"The last quarter was very pleasing. To run over the top of a side was good.
"It shows we're in the mix now. We've got some wins on the board early, which is good. It gives us a bit of a break."
Once on top in the midfield, Coolamon's attack was almost unstoppable.
Maslin finished with 4.1 and had a hand in several others, while Matt McGowan played one of his best senior games and kicked 5.3.
Barrett was in everything and finished with three goals himself, while Hillier and the Redferns kicked two each.
Blake Harper and Nick Perryman were again the best of the Demons. Harper pushed forward and kicked three goals with his overhead marking a highlight of his game.
Marc Geppert finished with 4.3 and was a constant threat, while John Buchanan had three goals by half-time.
