YOUNG and old were treated to an exhibition of all-things to do with the navy today as the Task Force 72 Carrier and Escorts Regatta took over the Oasis Aquatic Centre.

The event included various scale models of aircraft carriers, navy escorts and warships, which are built to a 1:72 scale.
About 70 demonstrations of radio-controlled, crafted model were conducted, with the event described by organisers "as a drawcard for the kids".
While there are only a handful of members in the Wagga base fleet, members from across the country attended.
Task Force 72 is about 23 years old and this is the 14th year in which the event has been held at Oasis.
The event will continue tomorrow from 10am to 2pm.
