Hay is gearing up for a population explosion as visitors from throughout Australia enjoy the hospitality of our June Long Weekend events.
There will be something for everyone from cars, markets, arts, bowls and the B&S ball.
Australian Hay Mini National Rally will once again bring Mini's from all over Australia.
The event starts on Saturday with a street parade at 11am, followed by a Show n Shine competition in Moppett Street.
This will be followed by a Motorkhana Saturday afternoon, at "Willunga" which is 12 kilometres from Hay on the Mid Western Highway and fireworks.
A highlight of the weekend which brings all event goers together is the Markets in Moppett Street on Saturday morning.
There will be many stalls from crafts, homemade goods, food stalls and children's entertainment.
Hay Art Inc. will have an "ARTOUT Exhibition" at The Spot over the weekend in conjunction with textile artist Miranda Brett.
There will be an opening night on Friday June 7 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and original art will be for sale. On Saturday there will be art/craft stalls near The Spot.
Club Standards and Triumphs of Victoria have some great events planned for the weekend and will be part of the street parade and have their cars on display.
Bowlers from over Australia will converge on Hay for the Hay Plains Bowls Carnival hosted by the Hay Bowling and Golf Club.
A great atmosphere on the greens and visitors and locals are encouraged to call in to the Club, meet the players and watch the strong competition.
Hay Dust Drinkers BnS Ball will be on Saturday evening at the Hay Showground Pavilion and party goers will dance the night away with bands Eight Second Ride and Silverstring Outlaws along with Jade Gibson on the day stage.
Other attractions, open over the Long Weekend include Shear Outback, Dunera Museum, Hay Gaol and Bishop's Lodge Historic House and Garden.
There are also some great bike tracks and walks along the Bidgee Riverside Trail to enjoy whilst at Hay.
