The Lions moved a game plus considerable percentage clear of the Bulldogs on the ladder, courtesy of an impressive 17.10 (112) to 10.9 (69) victory at Maher Oval.
Turvey Park took it to GGGM early and kicked the first two goals of the third quarter to regain the lead and put the Lions on the back foot.
But GGGM responded like a good team and kicked nine of the final 11 goals of the game to run out resounding winners.
It was the Lions' second win over a fellow finals aspirant in the last seven days and GGGM coach Christin Macri was rapt with the way the club's depth held up on Saturday.
"It was an important win and we had some significant changes today too," Macri said.
"Everyone stood up and played their role so it was a very pleasing win."
GGGM went in without five players from the team that defeated Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes last Sunday.
Michael Rothnie and Scott Proctor were late withdrawals due to work, while the Lions were also without Matt Hamblin (representative commitments), Jethro Peck (away) and James Wilson (elbow).
"It was five from our starting 18 in the end so we had three guys play their first games for the club today so it was a really pleasing win," Macri said.
"And to win by seven goals, it wasn't as though we just got over the line either. We were challenged and responded brilliantly."
The Lions had a good spread of contributors but ruckman Jacob Olsson led the charge with another strong performance.
GGGM's midfield were on top for most of the day, while Tom Anderson kicked three goals and had his best game for the year.
Matt Bailey and co-coach Jeremy Sykes both caused plenty of headaches for the opposition and were two of Turvey Park's best.
The Bulldogs get next week off in lieu of the Good Friday game earlier in the year.
