The Demons trailed by 17 points at half-time but kicked eight goals to two after the break to score an important win, 10.14 (74) to 7.18 (60) at Robertson Oval.
With the club's 1999 premiership heroes watching on, Tigers struggled for an avenue to goal in the second half and wasted a number of chances, kicking 2.11 after half-time.
Collingullie-GP got right on top in the midfield during the third quarter and allowed Blake Harper, John Buchanan and Marc Geppert to kick the Demons clear.
The visitors took an 11-point lead into the final term and stretched the margin when Buchanan kicked his fourth early in the quarter.
Tigers had their chances to hit back and closed within eight points momentarily but were too wasteful in front of goal and lacked a strong presence inside 50.
Collingullie-GP coach Luke Gestier loved the way his team responded after half-time.
"I really put it on the boys, I said we're up against it now," Gestier said.
"It's been low-scoring, we've been out of it but the beauty was, we were still in the game. We weren't five, six, seven goals down so we really looked upon that as a positive.
"I thought that was about as good as they could go and we had a lot more to give and it was probably just lifting a little bit by everyone.
"We changed up a few match ups, we wanted a bit more movement up forward and asked for a lift on-ball because we were getting well beaten in there at times. When we started winning it in there it turned the tide."
Gestier said it was the perfect response from his team after last week's surprise loss to Narrandera.
"We were very disappointed last week and really looking to bounce back," he said.
"I was really looking to see what the boys had to bring to the table today and it was good from half-time onwards I would have thought."
Nick Perryman was strong throughout the game in the midfield for the Demons, while Will de Jong battled admirably when he moved into the ruck and had an influence in the second half comeback.
Harper helped turn the momentum in the Demons' favour and finished with 3.4, while Buchanan (4.2) and Geppert (3.4) were both prominent in attack.
Jesse Manton was Tigers' most dangerous player and finished with 2.2, while Lahn Shepherd, Ben Kelly (1.3) and Dylan Morton battled hard.
Tigers remain in second position despite the loss but have played an extra game.
