Wagga railway passengers were offered a glimpse back to the early 1950s on Saturday morning as restored steam train pulled in to the city' station.

'The Picnic Train', formerly NSW government railways locomotive 5917, offered passengers an hour-long ride to Harefield.
The unmistakable sound of a steam train whistle echoed across the city on a calm and foggy morning and gave onlookers on the pedestrian overpass a blast of steam clouds as it departed.
The volunteer-run train was the last steam engine commissioned for Australian railways, entering service in 2952 with passenger carriages imported from North America.
Wagga station's railway museum was also open as an extra attraction for the passengers who booked tickets on the Picnic Train.
The train will return on Sunday afternoon for a 3.35pm departure to Uranquinty as part of a weekend tour that will also include Cootamundra.
