Riverina police teamed up with other districts to conduct operations targeting illegal activities such as hunting, trespassing and firearm offences. It was completed in the Hay, Maude and Booligal areas from May 24 to 27.

During the operation, 15 vehicles were stopped resulting in three drug charges, nine firearm safety inspections and 43 infringements were issued relating to illegal hunting and traffic offences.
Education was also provided in relation to firearm storage, permission to hunt and hunting in declared public areas. A number of local landowners were spoken to in relation to issues of illegal hunters in their area.
The Rural Crime Prevention Teams throughout the state will be constantly targeting illegal hunting and trespassing.
