The concept of the Ten X 10 Play Fest was first born in 2009 when it was known as Out of the Box. The Play Fest was given added momentum by the generous support from CSU providing the Riverina Playhouse as the performing venue.

Playwrights local, regional and national submitted their works for assessment making ten minute plays a legitimate form of Theatre.
Establishing Ten x 10 Play Fest in 2009 earned Wagga School of Arts...SoACT a Cat award nomination and established this festival as an annual event.
Riverina Water become the naming rights sponsor after three years and has taken up that sponsorship on an annual basis to this current year. This sponsorship makes it possible for the Wagga School of Arts....SoACT to keep this highly acclaimed Festival on their yearly calendar.
Ten years later and more and more writers are submitting and more and more good plays are being selected from a wide variety of writers spanning national and international locations.
At a local level there are more than 40 actors, directors, production and administration crew and backstage personnel involved in bringing Ten X 10 to life on stage.
The stage for 2019 is a return to the CSU Riverina Playhouse after an absence of some seven years.
Ten X 10 is often referred to as a Theatre Buffet that showcases variety and diversity making it a strong audience attraction.
Titled in 2019 Madness and Mayhem indicates the plays are full of real life madness, curiosity, exploration and some melancholy with a large spoonful of comedy.
