Emergency services were called to Bourke Street, near the corner of Leavenworth Drive at Mount Austin High School, shortly after 7.30am.
Police, Fire and Rescue NSW and paramedics were at the scene, where a vehicle had landed on its side.
It came to rest over the concrete median strip and across the northbound lanes.
CBD-bound traffic was still being diverted along Leavenworth Drive after the car was removed from the roadway.
The road was reopened and diversions removed around 8.15am.
Southbound traffic had not been affected by the incident.
The accident occurred just inside the school zone approaching Mount Austin High School from the north.
It is unclear what caused the accident.
NSW Ambulance confirmed paramedics did assess a patient at the scene, who was shaken but with no visible injuries and was not transported to hospital.
More to come.
