After beating ladder leaders Illawarra last week to secure just their third win of the Waratah Basketball League division one season, the intensity which ambushed the Hawks was missing in the 61-45 defeat.
The Heat trailed 20-19 at the main break, but went away from their game plan in the third quarter to allow the Yowies to build a match-winning 40-27 lead.
"It was our intention to slow them down defensively and we didn't do too bad a job keeping them to 61, but we got a bit rattled in terms of our execution and didn't shoot the ball very well at all," Bishop said.
"As a group we probably eased off a bit too much this week and didn't play with enough urgency or discipline. That crept in from Tuesday with the way we trained and not getting people to training, we have to be better at that."
Heat big Matt Brunell scored 20 points, with Dom Tye (11) the only other Wagga player in double figures.
"We probably didn't look to him (Brunell) enough, he really had to go searching for his points," Bishop said.
"The pleasing thing is we're getting better, there's teething problems and things we can work on.
"I think the guys need to stop worrying about the actual results, and worry more about the process.
We had a game plan we wanted to stick to and we were good for that in the first half, even though the shots weren't falling we stuck with what we needed to do.
"In the third we went outside our game plan and they really capitalised on that."
