Managers across the nation from Helloworld Travel met in Vietnam at the start of May to recgonise those who display a passion for staff development, team collaboration and best practice.
Tania Botha, from Temora Travel, won the state manager of the year award and said she was overwhelmed with emotion.
"Oh my god, I was completely shocked to start with and to even be nominated by my team was a huge surprise," she said.
"We're based in regional NSW, with only a population of 6000 people, and a lot of people who attended the conference were from city offices in Sydney and Newcastle with huge teams.
"The fact I trumped all of them was the biggest surprise and it's great to fly the flag for a small town like Temora."
Ms Botha has owned and managed the business for eight years and said she would not have been able to excel without her team behind her.
"The girls in the office did the submission and said I was a really flexible manager and working with all their needs," she said.
"It's really important to be flexible with your staff and lead by example, by doing long hours with good work ethic and dedication.
"It makes it super easy in my job because I have such a fantastic team; I'm blessed really, if it weren't for my team members I wouldn't be the manager I am."
