The Eagles proved they are no longer the whipping boys of the Riverina League with an impressive win over the reigning premiers, 13.9 (87) to 11.18 (84) at Narrandera Sportsground.
Narrandera led for the majority of the contest and held on gallantly in the end against an inaccurate Demons.
Jordan Hedington made an outstanding debut for Narrandera and was best-on-ground for the Eagles, just days after gaining a clearance from Queanbeyan.
Narrandera co-coach Shaun Brooker said it was one of the club's best wins in a number of years.
"It's massive," Brooker said.
"It was really good to get one of the close ones and one over a ripping side. To our boys credit, they stuck to what we've been training for and what we planned for and I think it will give them a lot of confidence.
"They stuck to the things Jamie and I have been trying to work on with them and it shows it can work. I think this will give them a lot of belief in themselves, just that belief that they can hold on and win a close one. It would have been really disappointing to lose a close one again and I think to hang on against quality opposition will hold them in good stead."
Narrandera teenager Harry Grintell kicked four goals, while Corey Baxter chimed in with three.
Jack Grintell, Ben Perry, Isaac Bunge and Macauley Smith were others to shine in what was a strong team effort from the Eagles.
John Buchanan kicked four goals for the Demons, while Nick Perryman and Dan Kennedy were two of their better players on a dirty day.
