Update at 5.20pm: The search operation has been called off after inquiries concluded that initial reports about people missing were miscommunicated, Riverina police Acting Inspector Ged Horsley said.

"Nobody was lost," he said.
"It's a bit of a nuisance, we had one police officer walk all the way up to the top and back again.
"We had two crews but it was better to make sure no one was lost."
Acting Inspector Horsley said crew members from all emergency units have been stood down about two hours after the initial reports.
Earlier at 4.50pm: A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services are continuing inquiries to confirm the status of the people reportedly missing.
"Initial reports were that some people were lost in the nature reserve, but it appears that some [crew members] have been stood down at this stage," the spokesperson said.
"But until we know for certain, we can't confirm."
Earlier at 4pm: Emergency services are attending The Rock Nature Reserve after reports of a missing person.
Wagga SES controller Daniel Mahoney said one crew has headed out to the site to help The Rock's SES unit in the search.
"We've got two units actively assisting police with the callout," a NSW SES spokesperson said.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said they received a call about 3.15pm today and sent two crews.
"They're on standby at The Rock Police Station," he said.
The spokesperson said there may be two people but it is not yet confirmed.
The Wagga Rescue Squad are also in attendance with one crew sent about 4pm today.
Wagga and The Rock police stations have been contacted.
