The Bulls welcome back Nathan Rose for their clash with Kangaroos but still won't be at full strength with Nick Skinner to miss the clash at Equex Centre on Saturday.
Rose returns after missing the win over Young with a hamstring complaint but Skinner comes out of the side.
However after both key men have had injury-plagued starts to the season, Skinner's absence isn't related to his troublesome pubic bone issue but instead the Bulls front rower will miss the clash due to work commitments.
Southcity has more than an ideal replacement in Hayden Jeans.
Jeans is set to start for the first time this season after coming off the bench in three games so far, including the 38-30 win over the Cherrypickers at Alfred Park.
Captain-coach Kyle McCarthy is pleased to have such depth at his disposal.
"It's a good little swap," McCarthy said.
"His aggression nature hasn't gone away and he will be ready to rip in.
"While we probably won't get the minutes out of him his physical presence is always good at the start of a game."
McCarthy will have a big role in the middle up against Glenn Dumbrell in the battle of the hookers.
He believes it will be a key to the game.
"We know they are dangerous around the middle with Dumbrell getting out of dummy half so we will have to be really switched on in the middle and at marker," McCarthy said.

Adding to the occasion both clubs will wear special Indigenous inspired jumpers for the Noel Murray Memorial clash.
Rose is pleased to be back for a special game.
"I've had a bit of a rushed start to the year with a couple of little niggling injury but it is good to be back definitely," Rose said.
"Along with our Indigenous jerseys it is something I enjoy being part of."
With Rose back in, Ben Lucas will drop back to the bench despite impressing when given his shot at five-eighth last week.
McCarthy believes his versatility is important.
Southcity's special first grade and leaguetag jumpers have been sponsored by Riverina Community College, The Personnel Group and Mission Australia.
All three organisations were thrilled to support the Bulls plus them recognise the important role played by Indigenous players in the community.
A silent auction for the jumpers will be held on Saturday.
