"You gotta love yourself enough to know you deserve more, be brave enough to demand more, and be disciplined enough to actually work for more," is a quote Dave "Pow" Tabain lives by.
With this mindset he shares the Mercedes-Benz view that their customers deserve "the best or nothing."
It was mid October 2018 when Leeton-born Dave Tabain, a two-time World Kettle Bell Champion, broke down on his way to teaching his 30 Day Challenge technique at a gym in Griffith.
As it wasn't the first time Dave's car had broken down, he wasn't sure how he was going to make it to Griffith, Leeton and back to Sydney, before his 30 Day Challenges kicked off and his new kids book POWMAN was getting dropped off to schools.
"Plan, strategise, action and seek help to get to where you want to be," Dave said.
"Be relentless in your pursuit. It's worth it. Let go of the expectation of exactly how you'll get there."
Reaching out, Steve Leddin from Wagga Motors Mercedes-Benz, and gave support in the form of a new Mercedes-Benz X-Class ute.
"I saw someone who does so much for people in the form of motivation, writing kids books to help deal with bullying, and someone who is a fantastic example of the amazing people from the Riverina in a sticky situation, and I was in a position to help him out," Steve said.
This was the start of a friendship, and partnership, between Wagga Motors Mercedes-Benz and Dave "POW" Tabain. The partnership would not only assist Dave in his mission to help people around NSW become all that they can be, but also help showcase the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class to a generation of customers who thought Mercedes-Benz was only accessible to the more wealthy, older peer group.
Using the Mercedes-Benz X-Class, Dave has travelled 15,000 kilometers, delivered close to 500 books and spoke to 2000 kids in rural NSW about dealing with bullying.
"It's the smoothest, quietest and nicest ute I've ever driven and it certainly turns heads everywhere it goes," Dave said.
Mercedes-Benz is about total cost of ownership, delivering value in the complete package they provide making Mercedes-Benz a brand with something for everyone.
