Two year 10 and two year 11 students have been selected for the NSW Public School Dance Ensemble and will be travelling to Sydney throughout the year for the State Dance Festival and Schools Spectacular.
Connor Polsen, 15, said they were required to submit a dance video audition along with some information and it was a long five weeks of waiting.
"The wait was stressful, we all were so excited screaming in the gym when we found out through the email," he said.
"It feels invigorating to be accepted into something so high and extraordinary."
Year 11 student Olivia Muir, 16, said it was a "surreal" moment finding out that she had earned her place among 30 students.
One of the school's dance teachers Melissa Brown said the students were critiqued on their technique and quality, which is centred around the dance syllabus.
"Students were judged on their ability to hold an audience, especially when it comes through on video as it's a lot harder than live auditions," Ms Brown said.
"It means that these students get the opportunities that Sydney students get.
"It's great to open their eyes a little bit and see that horizon and what else is out there."
The high school's deputy principal Tania Maddison said it is very rare for the number of students to be selected from one school.
"It is unusual for a school which is not a performing arts school to have so many students selected," she said.
