The awards, recognising regional businesses' contributions to the industry, have already seen many entrants from Wagga and surrounds, according to the General Manager of Destination Riverina Murray.
"We have about 15 nominations so far in the region, for all of the ranges of categories, but we want more to apply, we'd like to see as many as possible," Richie Robinson said.
Mr Robinson added the awards were all about helping to get the names of regional businesses more widely appreciated.
"It's about credibility in the broader tourism industry and from a consumer point of view as well," he said.
"We are the food bowl of the region here and need to convert that concept to incorporate visitor experience.
"We have fantastic producers, restaurants and quality local food here in the Riverina, and the awards really reinforce that."
Nominations for the awards close on Friday, May 24.
