FARRER League coach Matt Schofield believes an increase in representative netball matches would help convince more of the league's best talent to commit to the cause.

The Farrer League went down 40-39 to Hume at Osborne Sportsgrounds on Saturday in the only representative fixture of the season.
Schofield feels playing two or three games per year against the Canberra, Hume and Riverina competitions, possibly with a trophy at stake, would help the quest for more players to take it seriously.
"A lot of the girls don't see much benefit out of it but with a bit more exposure and a trophy at stake, it might give them the incentive to get involved," Schofield said.
"Do it over a couple of weekends and have two teams play the final on the same day as the footy. The netballers could do it over a longer period, and have a competition.
"It'd be good for the girls too, they don't often get to play all together."
Goal defence Sarah O'Leary, the Farrer League's best in a physical contest, agreed more games would be beneficial.
"I remember a couple of years ago we played Hume and Riverina on the one day," she said.
"It's hard to get girls keen to want to play it, but I think it's great to get a chance to play with the girls from other clubs."
O'Leary said the side was disappointed to get so close, but encouraged by their display against a strong Hume outfit after just one training session.
"It was goal for goal the whole game. They ended up getting the go-ahead goal with less than a minute left," she said.
"I knew they were going to be strong but I didn't think we'd go as close as we did. When we came off court we were really happy with how we went."
Farrer League fixtures this Saturday: Barellan v The Rock-Yerong Creek, Charles Stuart University v Marrar, North Wagga v Coleambally, Temora v Northern Jets (all games 1.30pm).
