The Farrer member since 2001 has comfortably brushed off a challenge from independent Kevin Mack with a dominant showing across Albury with resounding wins in most city booths and strong showings in the regional areas..
Ms Ley addressed the party faithful around 9.30pm to stop short of claiming victory.
"I'm incredibly grateful, incredibly proud and incredibly happy that it appears we have retained the seat of Farrer," she said.
"There are a few booths to count and I understand that, but I've had quite a few people contact me to say you are in.
"Every vote does count.
"The feeling is incredibly humbling."
In an added bonus, the federal Coalition is on the brink of an amazing comeback victory since Scott Morrison became Prime Minister last August.
On a two candidate preferred basis, Ms Ley leads 60.70 per cent to 39.30 per cent.
The swing against Ms Ley on the 78 of 91 polling booths was just 5 per cent when some pundits were predicting she might even lose the seat heading into election day.
Mr Mack polled 19.48 per cent of the primary vote counted to date.
"I'm happy we've run a good campaign," he said.
"I wish her all the best and look forward to working with her and her team in the future."
Prepoll are still to be announced on election night.
