Rose will miss the trip to Young on Sunday after picking up the injury setting up a try in the first half of the 36-10 win over Albury last week.

He's hoping only miss the Cherrypickers clash at Alfred Park.

"It's not too bad," Rose said.

"I'm just going to have the week off to rest it, see the physio next week and hopefully it will be good to go."

It's the first time Rose has had a hamstring issue and needs to strengthen the area back up to return to the field.

It's been an injury plagued start to the season for the Bulls five-eighth, who also missed their first two games with a knee complaint.

However he's set his sights on being part of the Noel Murray Shield clash between Southcity and the Kangaroos, where both sides will wear Indigenous-inspired jumpers.

"It would be good to get back for that round as it is something I look forward to be playing in every year," Rose said.

While Jordan Little played in the number six jumper for the first two rounds this time around Southcity captain-coach Kyle McCarthy has brought Ben Lucas into the starting team.

Lucas came off the bench last week and is currently leading the way in the reserve grade medal count.

Rose is confident he's more than up to the task.

"Benny is definitely a first grader even though he's coaching ressies," he said.

"He will be solid this weekend and do his job just like he does each time he steps up."

It's the only change for the Bulls while the Cherrypickers are unchanged as they look to spring an upset following a narrow loss to Junee last week.

They sit eighth on the ladder, five points behind the Bulls, six behind leaders Gundagai but are only two points outside the top five.

After a slip up against Temora to start the season the Bulls head into the clash very wary.

"Away games at Young are always tough but we just have to go there with a good mindset and be ready to play footy," Rose said.

"If we can put all that aside I'm sure the boys will hopefully come away with the win."

Meanwhile Brothers will be desperate to bring up their first win of the season when they host Cootamundra at Equex Centre on Sunday.

Neither side has won so far, although the Wagga outfit did draw with Kangaroos.

While it is an ideal time for last year's preliminary finalist to get the result they've got plenty of injury concerns with Jackson Newling and Nick Hay joining Liam Carey on the sidelines.
