The Wagga side hasn't tasted success since victory over winless Cootamundra in round two and a desperate to come away with the two points at Equex Centre.
After letting Temora get out to a 18-0 lead last week, Kangaroos have been working on getting out of the blocks better.
"We seem to be starting about 20 minutes into the game and then playing catch up footy," Dumbrell said.
"It's definitely not what we want and we're spoken at length about that and needing to turn that around."
Keeping the Dragons tryless in the second half is one positive from their last game coming up against a Junee side who just managed to get the better of Young.
Kangaroos named an unchanged line up but second rower Nic Baker is battling a knee complaint.
