A fenced 0.34 hectare section of Explorer Park at Boorooma and part of Wiradjuri Reserve were added to the list of off-leash areas after a vote at Monday night's meeting.
Almost 100 'resident dog owners' petitioned the council late last year to create the new areas "for the purpose of exercising and socialising their dogs".
The council placed the two sites as potential off-leash areas on public exhibition earlier this year.
Following submissions made regarding Wiradjuri Reserve, a trial will assess the usage and compliance of the eastern end of the reserve as an off-leash area.
The council has reminded community members that they are required to still have control over their dogs in an off-leash area and to clean up after their pets.
