Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA) will host the week-long event at the National Grounds in Wagga.
About 180 shooters will arrive in Wagga to compete for prestigious national titles.
"We've got a maximum field. We'll end up with 180 and that's as many as we can have," ACTA chief executive Paul McLoughlin said.
"There should be some really good shooting happening throughout the week."
The shooting will begin on Sunday and run through until Saturday May 25.
The official opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday at 10am with member for Wagga Dr Joe McGirr to fire the opening shot of the tournament.
McLoughlin replaced Tony Turner as the new ACTA chief executive six months ago.
The national titles is the biggest event to be held at Wagga's Shooting Grounds this year.
