Down to their third-choice halfback, the Dragons still had enough firepower to take a 22-12 win over Kangaroos at Nixon Park on
Temora led 18-0 at the break thanks to a double from Jock Ward and some smart play from Adam Block.
With Jarrod Lee still in Queensland and brother Rory Block out injured, Adam Block stepped out of reserve grade and shone.
Captain-coach Sam Elwin was impressed with his efforts.
"He was really good, his kicking game especially getting us repeat sets and he was very cool, calm and collected," Elwin said.
Despite the win Temora are just outside the top five with Kangaroos, who haven't won since round two, having a superior percentage.
Elwin is hoping to use the win to kick start the middle of their season with a clash against Gundagai up next.
Lee is expected to be back then however centre Blake Appo won't return after his father was injured in a horse riding accident.
With games against the Tigers, Brothers, Cootamundra and Junee Elwin is looking to pick up three wins to cement themselves in the finals equation.
"Gundi is obviously travelling really good at Gundi at Gundi is even tougher," he said.
"We know this is going to be a tough one but we are aiming to win three out of the next four.
"It would be good to get a win against Gundi especially with a few injured players back."
