Missing a handful of key players including Henri and Freddie Gardner, the Wanderers conceded the goal on the last kick of the first half and pressed hard after the break, but were unable to find and equaliser.

Jake Ploenges and Paul Milner both had chances cleared off the line, but the Wanderers are still in a strong position with three win from their first five games.

"Overall we've got to be pleased with our performance. We kept possession well and created a lot of chances and were banging on the door for most of the second half, but we just conceded at the wrong time."

"We were down on numbers and the twenties stepped up and helped us out, but we had enough playing personnel to win the game."

"They did sit off for most of the game and let us have the majority of the ball, but they hit us well on the counter and threatened a few times to score.

"All credit to them,they had a game plan and stuck to it, and beat us fair and square."

The Wanderers will be without Caylum Barber for another month after he was suspended for five matches for an altercation with an opponent when leaving the field after being sent off last week.

The club will host Southern Tablelands at Gissing Oval this Saturday.
