Late in the third quarter at Nixon Park on Saturday, Marrar produced a burst of football that set them on track to be the first team to bring down Temora this season, and issue a warning about their premiership defence.

Just as things started to look shaky, the new-look Bombers went from being under pressure to applying it.
Boasting 11 players out of the club's under 17 premiership team of last year, they rose to the occasion for an important 11.6 (72) to 7.8 (50) win.
"Six minutes before three-quarter-time, we were two goals down and under the pump. They'd dominated the quarter up until then," Marrar coach Shane Lenon said.
"But we went from two goals down to seven points up at three-quarter-time."
Three unanswered goals to the Mooney brothers, two to Rhys and one to Nathanael in his first appearance this year, turned the tide.
Having swung momentum their way, the Bombers were determined to ride it home.
Not even a rolled ankle could stop Rhys Mooney, who went deep forward and kicked all three of Marrar's last quarter goals as they finished over the top.
"We didn't play great footy for two-and-a-half quarters but our pressure was good and that kept us in the game," Lenon said.
"Our pressure and tackling was really positive but we turned the ball over too much. But that last five or six minutes of the third quarter and in the last quarter, we played a lot better brand of footy.
"One thing the young blokes give you is they can run, and they help you run the game out."
Rhys Mooney finished with seven for the game and has kicked 12 goals in his two games, while Nathanael finished with two.
But it was in the middle where ruckman Nick Molkentin and captain Jackson Moye led superbly throughout to firstly keep Marrar in the game and then plot a course to winning it.
And down back, where they were without John Hoey after a work injury, young gun Adam Whyte kept Temora star Matt Harpley goalless and Mitch Taylor closed down Roos coach Jake Wooden.
After just a goal each in the first half, the teams went to half-time with six scoring shots each but a 10-point lead to Marrar.
But after Temora threatened to take the game away midway through the third term, the Bombers lifted, and found their way out of trouble to secure a third win in four games.
The win moved them to third on the ladder, below North Wagga and above Temora on percentage.
Lenon was pleased to pick up a crucial four points but perspective was the key.
"It was just a battle really. There was a lot of pressure and we applied good pressure but we've certainly got a bit of work to do when we've got the ball in hand," he said.
Marrar's next game is at Charles Sturt University while Temora are at home to the Jets.
Smart backman Max Richardson led Temora's effort along with Gus McRae while Rob Krause was strong through the middle and kicked three goals.
