And repeatedly.
Not for the first time this season, the Blues struggled to assert their dominance over one of the lower ranked sides and coughed up plenty of possession.
Bristow is trying to work out why.
"I didn't feel the energy and the attitude when we arrived and I didn't feel it at training (on Friday night)," Bristow said.
"I'm not sure if that is the mentality of some of the people, that we are going to play these lesser teams and not much is required or if when we get into the game we just can't take it away from them.
"That is what it feels like.
"I never felt like we were going to lose the game or anything but it is just frustrating as I know we are a much better team than what we are showing."
It took the Blues nearly 20 minutes to open the scoring and they took a 18-6 lead into the break.
Two tries to start the second half, including Tom Warner's second, meant the game was never in reach of the winless Bulldogs, but the Blues are looking for more as they prepare to tackle Albury next Sunday.
"I'm just scratching my head as the performance we got out and put on last week is just a shadow of the team that played today," Bristow said.
"Whether it is just a case of the boys adapt to who we are playing and that is all we have to do or what? I'm a little bit lost.
"We will see what happens next week and will get a better indication."
In some good news they came through the clash unscathed after a number of injury worries to start the season.
