According to Bureau of Meteorology NSW duty forecaster Craig Ryan, Wagga is witnessing rainfall activity from a current cold front.
"Wagga has seen 2.6 millimetres of rain and this is expected to continue throughout the day," Mr Ryan said.
"There are possibilities of storms, which could contain small hail and we're looking at about five to 10 millimetres more.
"There is the possibility of larger totals if you are caught underneath a storm and rainfall and storm activity will reduce as we head into the evening and tomorrow morning."
Mr Craig said the lowest maximum temperature so far was on May 8, reaching a top of 14.5 degrees, however the last 12 hour temperatures have not been officially released.
"Today we're looking at a forecast maximum of 12 degrees and Wagga is currently sitting just below 10 degrees," he said.
"It appears yesterday reached 16.7 degrees and while the temperatures weren't too cold, the main issue is the wind chill.
"The minimum temperature last night was 9.7 degrees at about 11pm, which is not too dissimilar from what the current temperature is now, due to the cold front coming through."
The minimum temperature for tonight is, at this stage, expected to reach five degrees, due to south-westerly winds bringing some cooler air that will push over Wagga.
"A high pressure system is going to be impacting on the region, pushing the cold front out in the Tasman Sea," Mr Ryan said.
"As a result, conditions are expected to dry and then temperatures will start to increase.
"At this stage, Wagga is looking at temperatures slowly increasing."
Tomorrow is expected to reach 15 degrees, with a low of five degrees, mostly sunny.
Mother's Day is looking good, with the forecast expected to reach 17 degrees, mostly sunny, without the chance of rainfall.
"After shower activity pushes out tonight and into tomorrow morning, the forecast is expected to increase," the duty forceaster said.
