JETHRO Peck lived out every football players' dream after kicking the match-winning goal after the siren in Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong's thrilling 12.15 (87) To 13.8 (86) win over Wagga Tigers at Ganmain Sportsground on Sunday.
The previously unbeaten Tigers trailed for most of the match, but kicked five of the first six goals of the final term to hit the lead.
But after receiving a free kick around 35 metres out and almost directly in front, tall forward/ruckman Peck nailed the shot to register the Lions' second win of the AFL Riverina season.
It was a moment of drama which had even the most staunch GGGM supporters scurrying for the record books.
"We had people out here saying they'd never seen that happen at this club, a kick after the siren to win," Lions coach Christin Macri said.
"There was a couple of important plays towards the end and he (Peck) nailed it. He's done a lot of work on his goal kicking the last 12 months, it was brilliant.
"We led for most of the day and we lost it late, but there was a couple of important plays towards the end."
The win was the ideal tune-up for GGGM before they travel to defending premiers Collingullie-Glenfield Park on Saturday.
