The Swans made it three straight wins to the start the year on Saturday night when they scored a 27-point win over Narrandera, 13.7 (85) to 8.10 (58) at Narrandera Sportsground.
Griffith played their best footy to begin, kicking five goals to one in the opening quarter but there was not a great deal between the two teams after that.
The Eagles never got in a winning position but matched it with the Swans for the last three quarters.
Griggs labelled the win as another 'frustrating' performance.
"It's another game where we were up and down, up and down," Griggs said.
"It's pretty frustrating at the moment, but at least it's only early."
It is with last year in mind that Griggs is not too concerned by the position Griffith find themselves in.
"I won't say I'm happy but to take a positive out of it, we can get a lot better," he said.
"Obviously last year we started like a house on fire and maintained that, where is this year is the opposite and I still think we've got a lot to work on with the things that are letting us down."
Griggs said Griffith showed glimpses of their best against the Eagles.
"When we did move the ball well, we moved it really well," he said.
"The few times it happened they didn't get near it but they were few and far between."
Jacob Conlan booted four goals for Griffith in a strong performance, while Swans teenager Kahlan Spencer kicked two goals and impressed again with another good game.
James Toscan continued his strong start to the year at full-back and Mick Duncan won plenty of the football.
Narrandera ruckman Ben Perry played another good game for Narrandera, while Blake Renet and Joe Grinter were others to shine.
Griffith now have two weeks off with the club bye followed by the representative bye where Griggs said the Swans will embark on a 'mini pre-season'.
