Thunder is one of three unbeaten teams, sitting equal second with Gundagai after they played out a thrilling draw in round one.
However they are looking to make sure they don't give their rivals too many opportunities.
"We're delighted in the results we've been getting, there's room for improvement, but we're pretty excited about what's to come," winger Curtly Jenkinson said.
"Ball control is big on the weekend.
"We let them (Temora) into the game a little bit last week and gave them an opportunity to do some damage and against better teams, that might come back to haunt us.
"We're making simple errors, blokes are looking to get a bit more excited, we probably need to pick the time and the place, we need to be careful in the rucks as it can get a bit messy at times."
Thunder has averaged 33 points per game, but they'll be looking to reduce the 17 it's conceding.
Junee Foley is back for the Diesels.
