Wagga Police Station received calls about the vehicle, which was covered in police tape, and said the motorbike was most likely the result of an accident occurring during repairs done by the owner.
"I believe the owner of the motorbike was conducting some repairs on the bike and hadn't connected the fuel line or something similar to it and it has obviously caught fire," Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Spliet said.
He also advised that the police tape visible was merely a precaution to help notify the public that they were aware of the issue.
"If people see a burnt vehicle around we often get quite a few calls into the station, so it [the police tape] is just to save us getting calls."
