Due to graduate to the rank of private tomorrow, a spokesperson for the Australian Defence Force confirmed Liam Wolf would be given fitting honours.
"Private Liam Wolf will be marching out in absentia on Friday as a graduate of the Australian Army Recruit Training Centre," the spokesperson said.
The 18-year-old recruit suffered an episode of cardiac arrest after he fell down a tunnel and into water during routine training last Friday.
Paramedics attended the Kapooka training facility just after 8:30 on Friday morning and revived him, before he was taken to Wagga Base Hospital.
He was later transferred in a critical condition to St George Hospital in Sydney, where he passed away on Tuesday.
The defence force spokesperson said it had been the request of his family that Mr Wolf "be afforded a military funeral".
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Wolf's accident is ongoing.
