The two main days of the carnival are Thursday May 2 with the XXXX Gold Town Plate and Friday May 3 with the Alan Harris McDonald Gold Cup.
It's a rich carnival with thousands on offer on and off the track with impressive prize money for races and great prizes for the Fashions on the Field.
This year's Town Plate is worth $150,000 while the Gold Cup is worth $170,000.
The carnival has also been awarded 'country showcase' status with a minimum of $30,000 for all races on both days.
