Brooke Harris has been racing trotters for 11 years, and at just 15 years old, she will be representing NSW next week in the Kidz Kartz mini trots competition in New Zealand.
The young rider said she was looking forward to seeing the country.
"I haven't been to New Zealand before, so it'll be good to have a few days to look around as well," she said.
"Next week I'll go over and race at two different tracks, and we get different horses for each race so it's a little bit harder than being used to your own horse, then whoever gets the most points overall wins."
Miss Harris just competed at the Mini Trots Championships over the weekend in Tamworth, and said the step-up to the next level will be exciting.
"I'm pretty excited to have been chosen, I've only ever done championships in Australia before with NSW, QLD, and Victoria, so it will be a big deal," she said.
Miss Harris grew up with the sport as her family are in the harness racing industry and own trotters.
