Officials met with Football NSW this week, on the eve of Thursday's formal launch of a grassroots fundraising campaign for a new stadium for the city.
"They're 100 per cent behind what we're doing. They have us down as one of their priority projects," Football Wagga director Tim Barter said.
"They need us to build this so we can become a hub of football in this region and so they have another venue that they can push tournaments towards because at the moment they don't have a lot.
"They'll be helping with every proposal that we do."
Football NSW assistance will focus on the bid for $5.5 million in state government funding rather than its own financial backing.
As revealed in The Daily Advertiser last week, Football Wagga aims to raise half-a-million dollars in two years towards the venture, offering $500 double memberships to the new stadium.
A public backing by the organisation's clubs excited Football Wagga president Tony Dobbin.
"Absolutely," Dobbin said.
"This is probably the first time all the clubs have ever got together. I've been around for 11 or 12 years and I can't remember when all the clubs have got together like this. This demonstrates the commitment. They've come from Young, Leeton, Griffith, Tumut.
"Everyone's come here today to do this and that really helps us."
Football Wagga says the two clubs that raise the most money through selling memberships will earn the right to play in the first game at the new stadium.
