Robyn Buerckner was the winner of The Daily Advertiser's subscriber competition in conjunction with Evolve Hair Concepts, and she said the opportunity was much needed.
"I'm a farmer and a mum of two, and normally a makeover for me is just running a straightener through my hair so it was so exciting," she said.
"I love how it turned out, I haven't had a proper haircut in a while so it's very fresh."
Unite's International Creative Director and hair expert, Gary Baker, said the experience was just as enjoyable for him as it was for Robyn.
"It's fantastic here, and doing these makeovers is really heartwarming," he said.
"Ladies like Robyn are working day in and day out so it's lovely to help them feel glamorous even just for a day."
CEO of Evolve Hair Concepts, Bill Hindmarsh, said the idea for the competition came simply from wanting to cheer up the women of regional communities.
"I thought it would be nice to do something for the community, and there's a lot of interest from women with social media being what it is today and reality TV shows, everyone seems to follow celebrities so hair and makeup is such an important part of that," he said.
Mr Hindmarsh said the winner of Wagga's competition was well deserving of her makeover.
"It's a bit of a double whammy for farmers, they're isolated for one, so it's not always convenient to come out to a hairdresser, but also on the other hand, things have been though for them lately with the droughts so money is tight," he said.
"It's a little thing we can do to brighten the spirits of the area."
Mrs Buerckner left Wagga's The Style Bar salon with her fresh look ready to wow the town.
