Anzac Day will start with a dawn service for the city, where last year a record crowd filled the Victory Memorial Gardens in the early hours of the morning.
Commemorative services will span throughout the day before ending with a sunset service.
Anzac Day services
5.30am | Dawn service at the cenotaph
6.45am | Service at the war cemetery to be held outside the gates of the cemetery on Kooringal Road.
9.00am | Anzac Day mass at St Michael's Cathedral, Church Street
10.30am | March along Baylis Street to the cenotaph followed by a wreath-laying service.
11.15am | Commemorative service in the Victory Memorial Gardens.
5.30pm | Sunset service at the Wagga RSL Club's memorial at the Dobbs Street entrance.
What roads are closed?
A Wagga City Council spokesman said there will be road closures during the Anzac Day preparations and services, however, detours will be signposted.
Baylis Street from Morrow Street to Wollundry Lagoon Bridge and Morrow Street from Peter and Baylis streets will be closed from Wednesday 6pm to Thursday 5am.
Baylis Street from near Tompson Street to Wollundry Lagoon Bridge and Morrow Street from the eastern side of Baylis Street to the eastern side of Peter Street will be closed on Thursday between 5am and 7am.
Baylis Street from the south side of Morrow Street to the north side of Morgan Street will be closed from 6.45am to 9.30am.
Baylis Street from south side of Morgan Street to the north side of the Lagoon Bridge will be closed from 9.30am to 12pm.
Morgan Street from the western side of Berry Street to the western side of Baylis Street will be closed from 9.30am to 10.30am.
What's open on Anzac Day?
Wagga's major shopping centres, including Sturt Mall and Wagga Marketplace, will open doors after the official Anzac Day services at 1pm.
Coles, Woolworths and Bernardi's will be open from 1pm while Aldi will open its doors at 1.15pm.
It appears that most of the city's cafes will be closed for the public holiday, including Trail Street Coffee Shop, Jardines and Fitzmaurice cafes.
Wagga RSL and Commercial Club will be open from 7am for a buffet style breakfast followed by an Anzac Day lunch at 12.30pm.
The Victoria Hotel opens its doors from 11am, Farmers Home Hotel from 12pm and the William Farrer Hotel from 12.30pm for Anzac Day.
Wagga Police has urged people to commemorate the day respectfully and safely, with many expected to fill pubs after the traditional main-street march on Thursday.
Acting Inspector Maggie Deall said the day was dedicated to remembering the soldiers who served their country.
"Everyone should enjoy the day and celebrate what it represent, but it is important to remember to be respectful and avoid any silly behaviour," she said.
