The Bulldogs have led the way with the return of Good Friday football and netball and will host arch-rival Wagga Tigers at Maher Oval.
Tigers have set the competition abuzz with a big off-season, combined with an opening round 90-point demolition of Leeton-Whitton in Leeton, and Carroll is well aware of what the Bulldogs are walking into on Friday.
"Look, Tigers are flying aren't they? They picked up a lot of good players over the off-season, it was almost one a week, I lost count there for a while," Carroll said.
"They won all their trial games really easy and then their first game by 90 points. We're going to be up against it, no doubt, but we're looking forward to it."
Carroll believes the Good Friday standalone game is a great opportunity for his young team.
"For this young group to play on Good Friday in a big game, I think it's fantastic," he said.
"Hopefully it can turn into an annual event for Turvey and Tigers. Being a standalone game, it's a good experience for our young group. It's going to be a challenge but hopefully we can step up."
Turvey Park's task has been made tougher with the loss of Josh Ashcroft and Luke Cuthbert (both unavailable) for Friday's contest.
But the Bulldogs will still enter the game with confidence after they ended a 14-game losing streak to Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes in round one, winning by two points.
"It's pretty handy to know no matter what position we're in, we're pretty fit with a young group and we can run games out. The same thing happened in the trial against Gungahlin, we came home with a pretty good finish," Carroll said.
"So they will take a fair bit of confidence from that you'd think. We showed a bit of character and resilience but now we've got to back that up and bring it into another game."
While Turvey Park are missing a couple, Tigers will welcome back Lahn Shephard and Shaun Driscoll.
