Wagga's Stone the Crows festival has six days of all-sorts of entertainment for people over 50-years-old to enjoy.
Festival organiser Grant Luhrs said the frenzy has set in with nearly a sold-out crowd on the road to Wagga.
There are 550 caravans and motorhomes expected to park up at the city's ACTA shooting grounds this Friday.
"They will have about 1200 people coming through, so basically it is a sold-out event," Mr Luhrs said.
In its seventh year, Mr Luhrs has narrowed down the festival's success to keeping people interested.
"We have a lot planned over the six days from live entertainment, hands-on workshops and more. It's everything the grey nomads are interested in and that is key to keep them coming back," he said.
Mr Luhrs said about 75 per cent of last year's festival-goers were already booked for the following year before they even left the city.
"They keep coming back because they have a good time," he said.
"They are wandering around the countryside looking for things to do.
"Grey nomads have a lot of rallies throughout the year, but ours is unique because it is at the same time and place year-on-year and we were the first festival to combine caravans and motorhomes - beforehand the two never met until us."
Mr Luhrs said people throughout the country are making the trip to Wagga each year including those from New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
The Stone the Crows festival will start on Friday and finish on Thursday, the following week.
Mr Luhrs said the festival was open to the Wagga community on Monday for an all-day market at the ACTA shooting grounds.
