Detective Acting Inspector Phil Malligan said police are concerned about the increase of reported thefts of valuables from cars.
"Police are calling on members of the public to secure their motor vehicles," he said.
"Certainly, don't leave valuables inside motor vehicles, in particular, keys to other premises or to other motor vehicles.
"It is a crime that is continually increasing."
Inspector Malligan said they are responding to these thefts regularly.
"In the CBD and other suburbs, it is not generic to any particular area," he said.
"It is occurring across the city - in car parks, residential areas and even in the driveway of people's homes."
Inspector Malligan said it's a lot of stress and trauma to lose possessions such as cards and keys.
"So please your lock your car," he said.
"I believe it's random and that it's a spontaneous thing."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wagga Police Station on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
