The Wagga Leisurefest Roadshow is back for its 12^th year and the organiser Jeff Leech said the trend has changed and younger people are jumping on board. 

"It's all ages; previously it was all the grey nomads who bought caravans but now people aged 35 and plus are all buying caravans for the family," Mr Leech said. 

"We've got over 250 caravans, campers, boats and cars on display, people have come from everywhere and it's a major event for Wagga." 

Lloyd Healey and his partner Kristine were out-of-town visitors, from Congupna, who were eyeing off caravans as a future purchase for when they retire. 

"We were on our way home and had today to fill in, so we thought we'd come here to have a look around and see what you can spend your money on," Mr Healey said. 

"We don't caravan a lot and usually choose motels rather than a caravan but once we retire, which is a couple of years away, we hope to do some more of it.

"This is my first time, I've always wanted to come here and have a look, but this time we were here at the right time." 

Also visiting Wagga was Tumbarumba resident Kristin Duffy who said she is forever looking at caravans. 

"I'm just looking to see whether I still like my caravan, which we've had for six years and taken around Australia," she said. 

"We're grey nomads and we've been here most years."

Mrs Duffy said her husband looks at the undercarriage of the vehicles to check the airbags and suspension. 

One of the vendors was Heidi Edwards from Albury's off-road specialists: Mountain Trail Campers. 

"We offer the versatility of being able to go anywhere in Australia, fully off-road, fully self-contained and self-sufficient with energy," she said.
