Enjoy a mini-cinematic experience at 10.15am every Wednesday morning in the Children's Area during the school holidays.
Brave is a PG-rated Pixar and Disney collaboration and will screen on April 17. This epic mother-daughter tale released in 2012 features the voices of Billy Connolly and Emma Thompson.
On Wednesday, April 24, we will screen the 1971 Disney Classic Bedknobs and Broomsticks, starring a young Angela Lansbury. The film is based on the books The Magic Bedknob; or, How to Become a Witch in Ten Easy Lessons, and Bonfires and Broomsticks by English children's author Mary Norton (who also wrote The Borrowers). The film uses the live action and animation technique made popular by the film Mary Poppins, and features tunes by the same songwriters, Richard M and Robert B Sherman.
Is there anything you cannot make with LEGO? Back by popular demand, our program LEGO LAND will offer two drop-in sessions, 10am to 11.30am and 2pm to 3.30pm on Thursday, April 18.
Children are invited to participate in an original, brick-building extravaganza and discover what their imagination and hundreds of little coloured bricks can create. LEGO LAND is suitable for children 5-12 years of age. A parent or carer must supervise attending children at all times.
In addition, do not forget that every day during school holidays the library will have craft, board games, puzzles, Xbox Kinect and free Wi-Fi in the Children's Area. Drop in, bring a coffee, and let the kids get busy. Who knows? You may even get to read something for yourself.
