Sixteen-year-old Year 11 student at Narrandera High School, Lilly Hewitt, is known in athletic circles for her exploits.
At the Australian Athletics Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre in the first week of April, 3500 track and field athletes of all ages competed.
Lilly, through prior performances, had already earned her right to compete in the junior championships against Australian and New Zealand athletes and made it into the shotput finals.
A personal best of 14.52m secured for her a bronze medal.
Then, in the junior hammer throw at the same meet, she finished seventh overall and set a new personal best of 42.8m. I'll leave it to you to step it out.
Yes, it is a very long way.
